What Keepfold does

Keepfold lets you save posts and links from other apps, summarizes them with AI, organizes them, and shows some of them to you again later.

Data we process

  1. Account data — your email address (email sign-in), or an identifier from Sign in with Apple / Google, and your app language and time zone.
  2. Your saves — links you share to Keepfold, text you add (notes, tags, collections), and what we derive from them: public preview information about the post (title, caption or description, author, preview image address), AI-generated titles, summaries, key points, tags, places and a numeric representation for search ("embedding"). Videos you share as files stay on your phone: only four still frames and a transcript made on the phone are uploaded (the transcript never involves an online speech service).
  3. Imports — if you upload a data export from another service, we read only the saved-posts files in it to create your saves and delete the uploaded file right after reading it (and in any case within 7 days).
  4. Subscriptions — your plan and the purchase reference from the App Store or Google Play (we never see your payment details).
  5. Stays on your phone — reminders you set and recipes you plan for the week are stored only on your phone. If you turn on "Tell me when I'm near saved places", the app reads your approximate location (never your precise location, never in the background) and compares it on the phone with the places in your saves; your location is not sent to us.
  6. Technical data — request logs with internal identifiers, kept for 14 days for security and troubleshooting. We don't log the content of your saves.

How AI is used

Summaries, titles, tags, collections and search use AI models run by Amazon Web Services (Amazon Bedrock) in the EU. Your content is sent to these models only to produce results for you; it is not used to train them. AI output can be wrong — the original post is always one tap away.

Where data is stored

On Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt (eu-central-1), encrypted at rest and in transit. Processors: Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL (hosting, AI, email); Apple and Google (sign-in, subscriptions, push notifications; on Android, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers push notifications); Amazon Location Service (turning place names from your saves into map coordinates). Legal bases (GDPR)

Performance of the contract (providing the app, Art. 6(1)(b)); legitimate interests in security and abuse prevention (Art. 6(1)(f)); consent for optional notifications and the optional nearby-places feature (Art. 6(1)(a)).

How long we keep data

As long as you have an account. Deleting a save removes it from our database immediately; deleting your account removes your saves, collections, imports, exports and account data, revokes Sign in with Apple, and deletes your sign-in identity.
